The mechanics, electricians and storeroom employees at Northfield Mountain voted on January 12th to join Local 455.

Since being acquired by the Suez Company employees have seen their pensions frozen, and hourly benefits slashed, while local 455 represented employees have been able to hold on to those same benefits in a recently bargained five year contract.

Having had enough and realizing that they needed the security of a union contract the employees voted to join. Contract negotiation should begin in mid February.
